The department is equipped to deal with all kinds of head and spinal problems, including trauma, tumor, congenital anomalies, vascular problems, stroke, degenerative spine disorders, etc. The department is actively involved in academic activities of the Hospital, national and international conferences including the weekly Tuesday meetings, quarterly meetings of Nepalese society of Neurosurgeons, South Asian Neurosurgical Congress, etc.
Quite a few publications have been published highlighting the work of the department in national and international journals and conferences.
